Monyash Methodist Church
Monyash is a small village in the Derbyshire Dales, very popular with tourists and walkers exploring the dales and surrounding countryside. It has a Parish church and a Methodist chapel. The chapel was built as a Primitive Methodist chapel in 1835 and later, in 1888, our main chapel building was added.
We share our services with Flagg chapel, alternating weekly. The chapel hosts a gospel service which is held once a month, a Bible study group, a youth group run by our Circuit youth leader fortnightly, a breakfast service once a month, and we also let the premises out to a quilting group.
We are at present undergoing extensive refurbishment as we have had to treat the whole building for woodworm and this has necessitated removing the pews. This will be ongoing for quite some time, but we are very keen to keep our chapel open for the continued worship of God.
